Story Continued...
I was called on to do a consultation with a dog who barked
after every meal. "Corrie" was a big, beautiful, smart Rottie who
seemed to be trying to 'say' something to her person when she barked. This person really
loved her dog and wanted to hear what was so important.
Working with Corrie's picture, the
first thing she said to me was "I am a divine being one with all that is. I am
your friend, want to listen? My listening ears are always on." She was really ready!
Corrie expressed complete devotion to her family and gave us specific details that helped confirm our link. Then
she got right down to business. "There is danger. I can feel it, I want to surround
them with my love and protection. Do they feel it? Am I getting through? Can you
tell them? Don't stop telling till it gets through! That's my job."
She continued with great insistence: "Cars and trucks outside, close calls with
kids. I want to help more." She relayed there had been a close call with young people and a car. "It's about the OUTSIDE!"
Her person said their street had little traffic. Then she remembered a recent
event: Young people had tried to break into their car
on the driveway one night. Corrie had barked loudly from inside the house and
chased them away. Her people were so proud they told everyone they could leave the
back door of their house unlocked at night and the dog would surely protect them!
Corrie conveyed to us she felt
'on alert' 24/7 with that unlocked door, and she needed a break.
Together we agreed that the person would meet Corrie half-way in her job as
guardian of the house. She would start locking the doors so the good watch dog could have
some "time off."
Corrie was a smart, caring dog who was relieved that she had been heard. The answer to the barking mystery
had been found. As we ended our consultation, I sensed that the loving,
respectful connection between the dog and her proud person had grown stronger than ever.
